Quick Properties
The Quick Properties panel is context-sensitive. It shows information and controls for whichever object is currently selected in the viewport — without having to navigate to the Links, Materials, or Families panels manually.
Screenshot needed: Quick Properties with a synced object selected; and with a non-BSync object selected
When a synced object is selected
The panel shows:
Object name and type icon — identifies the selected object.
Metadata — key fields such as UUID, object type, family name, and frozen state. These are read-only fields that identify the object and its sync status.
Special data — shown only for Camera, Sun, and Basepoint objects. Displays type-specific properties:
| Object type | Fields shown |
|---|---|
| Camera | Projection, Field of View (or Ortho Scale), Clip Start, Clip End, Lens Unit |
| Sun | Latitude, Longitude, Date/Time, Timezone Offset, Daylight Savings, North Angle, Light Type, Energy, Sun Angle |
| Basepoint | Position Matrix, User Offset, Display Type, Display Size |
These fields are read-only in Quick Properties.
Document row — shows the name of the linked document with a Select button (arrow icon). Clicking Select navigates to that document in the Links panel — useful for jumping to its overrides or authorization controls without scrolling.
Family controls — the same family override controls from the Families panel, applied directly to this object's family.
Material controls — the same material override controls from the Materials panel, applied directly to this object's material.
When a non-BSync object is selected
If the selected object is not linked to a BSync document, the panel shows Document: Not linked and nothing else. No other subsections appear. Select a synced object to see the full panel.
