Presets
A preset saves all overrides for a document — materials, families, global settings — into a .bsync file. Load it into any scene, or use it to restore your overrides after a re-sync from Revit resets the scene.
What a preset contains
- Document identity
- Global material override state
- Per-material overrides (all subsections)
- Family overrides
Saving a preset
- Select a document in the Links panel.
- Click Save Preset.
- A file browser opens. The filename is pre-filled with the document name. Choose a location and save.
The file browser opens at Blender's last-remembered save location. No directory is pre-set by the add-on.
Loading a preset
- Select the target document in the Links panel.
- Click Load Preset.
- Navigate to the
.bsyncfile and open it.
Conflict handling
When loading a preset, the add-on may find materials or family assets with the same name already in the scene. A conflict dialog appears with two options:
- Reuse existing — use the asset already in the scene (by name match)
- Import as copy — bring in a separate copy from the preset file
Choose Reuse existing if the scene already has the correct materials or objects set up and you just want to reapply the override settings. Choose Import as copy if the preset came from a different project and you want its specific assets brought in alongside your own.
Presets are most useful when applying a studio look-dev setup to a freshly synced scene, sharing overrides between team members, or restoring your work after a full re-sync from Revit.
